Bangalore , Jul 28 Karnataka government today introduced an amendment bill in the assembly to include acts of terror under the purview of organised crimes and provide for deterrent punishment of death or imprisonment for life.The Karnataka Control of Organised Crimes (Amendment) (KCOCA) Bill, 2009, introduced by Home Minister V S Acharya, also provides for attachment of property of the accused pending investgation and to increase the period for filing of chargesheet from six months to one year. It also seeks to provide for fines of Rs ten lakh for committing an act of terrorism. Acharya also introduced a bill bringing crimes relating to video and audio piracy under the stringent Goonda Act, fulfilling its promise to the Kannada film industry. Karnataka Film Chambers of Commerce has been pleading the state to include offences of piracy under the Goonda Act.
