Kundapur, Sep 1:  Entrepreneur R N Shetty, a unique personality, apart from achieving newer milestones in his business establishments, has also been liberally serving the society. Thus, he is an invaluable asset for the society and a multi-faceted guide, said state home minister Dr V S Acharya.

He was speaking after participating as chief guest, in a function organized by Kundapur Education society in the R N Shetty Hall of Bhandarkar's College here on Sunday August 31, to felicitate R N Shetty and to inaugurate R N Shetty PU College here.

The twin-districts have been credited with adjusting well to the changing circumstances and excelling in the fields of social, cultural, health and banking sectors in tune with globalization. These districts also boast of working to develop on their own, without solely relying on government assistance. The districts, apart from achieving development and also sacrificing for the sake of development, have been competing with the developed countries as far as human development index is concerned. "We are very proud of these achievements," the minister said.

He advised the students to emulate the ideals set before them by ex-President of India A P J Abdul Kalam, who took birth in an ordinary family and rose to the highest position in the country because of sheer hard work and determination.

Nitte Education Trust president Vinay Hegde presided. Entrepreneur R N Shetty inaugurated the newly-started R N Shetty PU College building. Kundapur Education Society vice-president K Sarvotham Shetty, joint secretary Bandya Sudhakar Shetty, principal Chitra Karanth etc., were also present.
